KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has started recording statistics of e-commerce businesses in the country. The central bank has made public the transaction amount through e-commerce platforms in the first month of the current fiscal year.
As per the recent statistics published by the central bank, 168,627 e-commerce transactions worth Rs 1.20 billion were made in the first month of fiscal 2020-21 (mid-July to mid-August).
Recently, e-commerce businesses have been increasing. Such businesses started booming in recent times due to the lockdown.
