KATHMANDU: Issuance of labor permit from the Foreign Employment Office (FEO) at Tahachal has come to a halt.
The service from the office has been halted after some staff at the office tested positive of the COVID-19 infection, according to Kumar Dahal, director general of the Department of Foreign Employment.
“One of the employees has tested positive and the symptoms of the virus have been seen in other employees too,” said Dahal, adding, “All services will remain closed until the next notice.”
The government had stopped issuing labor permits since the nationwide lockdown imposed on March 24 to combat the spread of the coronavirus. However, it decided to resume issuing such permits from September 1.
