Efforts to elect FNCCI senior vice-president unanimously

KATHMANDU: KATHMANDU: Amid rising politics at the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) ahead of the organization’s election slated for November 26-28, aspirants for different posts, especially the senior vice-president post have started discussion over electing the new senior vice-president unanimously.

The FNCCI statute has a provision whereby the senior vice-president of the organization automatically becomes the president in the next election. As the result of such provision, the election for the post of senior vice president is at the center and aspirants for the post are seen in a race to win the support of FNCCI members.

Industrialists and vice presidents of FNCCI Kishore Pradhan and Chandra Prasad Dhakal have already filed their candidacy for the senior vice-president post. However, both Pradhan and Dhakal have said that they are open to elect the senior vice-president unanimously but will not withdraw their candidacy.

Primarily, former presidents of FNCCI have been pushing for unanimously electing the senior vice-president over holding the election.
