Voting underway for FNCCI Election on 64 posts

KATHMANDU: The election for the new executive committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is underway in Kathmandu today.

FNCCI, the largest body representing the private sector, is expected to get new executive committee under the leadership of Shekhar Golchha by midnight today. Among others, the election for the post of senior vice-president is the center of attraction in today’s election as the senior vice-president elected today will automatically become FNCCI’s president after three years as per the organization’s statute.

Industralists Chandra Prasad Dhakal and Kishore Pradhan are vying for the senior vice-president post in FNCCI.

The FNCCI election is being held from three election centers simultaneously. Voting is being held at the Pragya Pratisthan in Kamaladi for the district-municipal side and at Karki Banquet Thapathali for the associate side. Similarly, voting is underway at FNCCI’s office in Teku for the commodity side.

A total of 123 candidates are vying for 64 posts in the election.
