NEA starts cutting power of customers in Lahan for not paying electricity tariff

KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) office in Lahan has cut off the electricity line of 18 households (customers) for not paying the electricity tariff on time.

“Though we had been requesting customers to clear electricity tariff due. We were forced to cut power as they were reluctant to clear it,” said Jitendra Kumar Yadav, chief of NEA Lahan.

He further informed that NEA will cut power of other households in coming days if they ignore NEA’s call to pay electricity due on time.

NEA had first cut power of those customers that had not paid more than Rs 50,000 tariff due. were responsible to pay more than 50 thousands of Tariff and so on. The NEA office in Lahan is yet to recover over Rs 300 million from customers.
