KATHMANDU: The government is introducing payment provision of the local and provincial governments through electronic payment system from upcoming fiscal year 2021-22.
The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) has prepared necessary provision to introduce electronic system payment system in the local and provincial governments.
Similarly, the federal and provincial governments will implement electronic payment system in the field of public service utility from next fiscal year. Also, the system of making payments to the local government through electronic means will be developed. At present, the government is gradually facilitating government payments through electronic payment system. It is expected to save time on the one hand and help in transparent transactions on the other.
The OAG has decided to do the accounting and report preparation of the Federal Provident Fund, provincial Provident Fund and Local Provident Fund through electronic system.
