Rs 20.31 billion budget for airport infrastructure

KATHMANDU: The government has allocated a total of Rs 20.31 billion for the construction of four international airports and other domestic airports in the coming fiscal year.

Of these, Pokhara Airport has received the most. According to Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Rs 8.5 billion has been allocated for the construction of Pokhara Regional International Airport.

Rs 6.95 billion has been allocated to make Tribhuvan Airport a boutique airport, to expand taxiway and to build a terminal building. Similarly, Rs 3.53 billion has been allocated for additional work of Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa and construction of the second terminal.

The government has also allocated Rs 1.33 billion for the construction of infrastructure of domestic airports in the coming fiscal year.
