Tourism hopes: Nearly 3,000 foreign tourists arrive Kathmandu in July

KATHMANDU: Following government’s decision to ease prohibitory order and increase frequency of foreign flights, foreign tourists have started visiting Nepal.

As per the statistics maintained by the Department of Immigration (DoI), as many as 2,991 international tourists entered Nepal in July through the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Of total visiting foreign tourists, 1,140 are males, 1,050 are females and one other.

The DoI’s statistics shows that foreign tourists from 99 different countries visited Nepal in July. Meanwhile, 3,157 foreigners returned to their countries through the TIA, as per the report.

Among total arrivals, 1,105 arrived from India, 819 from USA, 185 from the UK, 165 from Turkey, 14 from Bhutan, five from Pakistan, three from Sri Lanka, 75 from Canada, 50 from China, 45 from Belgium, 41 from France, 23 from the Netherlands and 19 from Russia.
