Maoist Centre representatives suggests scrapping the MCC Compact

KATHMANDU: Representatives at the General Convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) have suggested the scrapping of the MCC Compact.

Citing that the US grant is not in the interest of the country, majority of the Maoist Centre representatives said that the Compact should not be passed. Such suggestions from representatives at the Maoist Centre general convention has come at a time when party’s chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been sayin that the US grant should be ratified only after amendements.

Thakur Kumar BK, coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Center) Central Committee, Arghakhanchi, said that all the 11 groups submitting suggestions on Chairman Dahal’s report were of the view that the MCC should be scrapped. He said that the remaining 14 groups were also of the view that MCC should be scrapped.
