Govt obliged to spend Rs 3.6 billion every day to meet its capital expenditure target this year

KATHMANDU: Though we are to the end of the current fiscal year 2021/22, the government is yet to spend Rs 222 billion in the capital expenditure of the total allocation.

The government had allocated Rs 378.09 billion in capital expenditure for the current fiscal year. Later, the government had revised down the capital expenditure target to Rs 340.32 billion.

However, the government has been able to spend only Rs 118.26 billion of the amount in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year which is 31.28 per cent of the spending target. It shows that the government should now spend Rs 3.6 billion every day to meet its capital spending target for the current fiscal year.
