Govt’s borrowing stands at Rs 221 billion in nine months

KATHMANDU: The government has raised loan worth Rs 221 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2021/22, as per the Ministry of Finance.

Of the total loan raised, Rs 116 billion is external loan and Rs 105 billion is internal loan. The government has set a target to collect Rs 522 billion (external borrowing worth Rs 283.9 billion and internal borrowing worth Rs 239 billion) in the current fiscal year.

Of this, the government has raised loan worth Rs 49.46 billion within January to April this year.
