eSewa Money Transfer, Lulu International Exchange join hands to boost remittances from UAE to Nepal

KATHMANDU: eSewa Money Transfer, a digital remittance company under F1 Soft Group, has entered into an agreement with UAE based money transfer & foreign exchange company Lulu International Exchange, to boost transactions made from UAE to Nepal.

Through this partnership, eSewa and LuLu Exchange will leverage the potential of their combined network to bring greater flexibility and convenience to Nepalese expats in the UAE.

The agreement was signed between Ajesh Koirala, CEO,eSewa Money Transfer, and Thampi Sudarsanan, Assistant Vice President, Lulu International Exchange.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Koirala said, “We are delighted to establish a remittance partnership with Lulu International Exchange, a known company in UAE for foreign exchange and global money transfer. With this partnership, we aim to provide Nepalese working in UAE with a fast, convenient and secured remittance service at low cost and also bring smiles to their family members back home in Nepal”.

Mr. Thampi Sudarsanan said, “The Nepal corridor has been seeing tremendous growth in recent years, with more Nepalese making the UAE their second home. As one of the UAE’s largest remittance service providers, we are committed to this partnership with eSewa, which allows us to deploy our technology and regional network for the convenience of our Nepali customers. We are confident that this partnership will benefit our Nepalese customers and bring our services even closer to them.”

Under the agreement, Nepalese expats can remit money through any of the 84 branches of Lulu International Exchange spread across the UAE, or remit digitally through the LuLu money app.

The sender can choose to remit money through three channels: 1)by directly loading the eSewa wallet used by 5 million+ customers in Nepal, 2) by depositing money directly to 60+ bank accounts, and, 3)by remitting cash to beneficiaries which can then be collected from over 10,000 cash pick-up agentsand 100,000 cash points of eSewa across Nepal.

In addition, the beneficiary will receive a cash bonus up of NRs. 77, up on receiving the money directly in their eSewa wallet.

Furthermore, those sending money will be automatically enrolled into eSewa’s ongoing new year campaign – ‘remitutsav’,where one person will be eligible to win NRs. 5000 daily and one lucky winner will receive the bumper prize of NRs. 50,000at the end of the campaign.
