Tax contrivances: CCTV footage recovers but people could not be identified

KATHMANDU: The CCTV footage of the day when former finance minister Janardan Sharma allegedly allowed unauthorised persons to enter the Finance Ministry, has been recovered.

The forensic lab of the Nepal Police sent the recovered footage to the parliamentary committee on Tuesday.

Committee members had watched the footage received from the forensic lab at a meeting of the panel this morning.

A lawmaker said that the footage of the night of May 28 was recovered. But, the people in the footage could not be identified.

“The faces of the people are not clearly visible in the footage of the night scene. We have decided to hold a discussion with the experts to make the footage clearer,” the lawmaker said.

The committee has also sought help from the journalists who had written this exclusive news. The committee has sought help from the journalist duo—Surendra Kafle and Mamata Thapa—of The Annapurna Post.

The journalists have been saying that they have the evidence but are unwilling to give to the committee.
