World Communication Award shortlists Ncell in two categories

Ncell transitions to 100% Nepali ownership, prioritizing value for local consumers

KATHMANDU: Ncell has been nominated at the World Communication Award 2022 in two categories. The Nepal-based private telecom firm has been shortlisted in the ‘Customer Experience Award’ and ‘Social Contribution Award’ under the World Communication Award 2022.

For the past 24 years, the World Communication Awards have recognized innovation and excellence for global telecoms and have evolved to recognize major trends and technologies, with categories that are revised every year to ensure their ongoing relevance to the rapidly evolving communications ecosystem.

This year, the World Communication Award (WCA) is recognizing telecom companies across the world under various 23 categories. All shortlisted telecom companies have been selected by a panel of WCA expert judges.

Along with Ncell, AsiaInfo Technologies (China), INC, Colt Technology Services, China Mobile Beijing & Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, CITIC Telecom CPC, AI AR Remote Hand, Digicel Group, Orange 5G Lab, Subtonomy, SubSearch and Swisscom, Plato have been shortlisted in the Customer Experience Award category.

Similarly, Catel, imowi, Digicel Haiti Foundation: Educating a nation so no one gets left behind, Ericsson, Air Quality Project, Ncell, Ooredoo Myanmar, SEAD Project, PLDT and Smart: Championing Safety and Wellness in the Digital World, Polycab Telecom, Robi Axiata Ltd., bdapps have been shortlisted in the Social Contribution Award category.

Ncell had been awarded with the prestigious World Communication Awards 2021 (WCA) under ‘The Social Contribution Award’ and ‘Crisis Response Award’ categories in 2021. Winners of the award this year will be declared on November 1.
