KATHMANDU: The time given to a five-member team formed by the government to investigate the Pokhara plane crash in Nepal on January 15, 2023, has been extended by 45 days.
Earlier, the commission was given 45 days to complete the investigation and submit its report to the government. However, as the team could not complete its work, the deadline has been extended for 45 days.
A cabinet meeting held on Tuesday evening made the decision, informed the government spokesperson Rekha Sharma.
The commission has already published its preliminary report, which pointed at feathered propellers as the cause of the Pokhara plane crash, thus preventing the aircraft from getting the power to fly.
The data recorders from the black box of the aircraft were sent to the Transport Safety Investigation Bureau in Singapore for analysis, according to the commission. The Yeti Airlines crash near Pokhara’s new airport killed all 72 on board including four crew members.
