KATHMANDU: The Nepalese government no longer permits students to enroll in programs other than those provided by universities abroad.
According to the Ministry of Education, students can only get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for studying abroad if they are accepted into a bachelor’s degree-level or higher university program. This implies that students who intend to enroll in non-university educational programs, such as language courses, are ineligible for student visas.
According to national education law, instruction up to grade 12 is regarded as schooling. As a result, the government decided to allow students to travel abroad only for higher education.
There has been a recent rise in the number of students getting permission to study abroad. Since the middle of July 2022, a total of 81,573 people have received approval for studying abroad during the current fiscal year, according to the NOC Section at the Ministry.
