KATHMANDU: The fifth edition of the Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM), Nepal’s premier international tourism trade fair, is set to take place from Jestha 20 to 22, 2082 (June 3-5, 2025) in Kathmandu. Organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines, and other key national and international tourism organizations, the event aims to bolster Nepal’s position as a global tourism destination.
The HTM 2025 coincides with two significant milestones: the 50th anniversary of PATA Nepal Chapter’s contributions to tourism promotion and the 75th anniversary of the first recorded ascent of Annapurna I. Since its inception in 2017, the annual HTM has served as a vital platform for networking, fostering business opportunities, and promoting Nepal’s tourism and hospitality sectors on a global stage. According to PATA Nepal, the mart facilitates connections among worldwide tourism and hospitality institutions, professionals, and diverse industry stakeholders.
This year’s event is expected to draw over 700 participants from more than 30 countries, including over 100 international guests, alongside Nepal’s public and private sector tourism professionals. The mart will bring together global buyers, sellers, travel bloggers, expert speakers, national and international media, and travel industry professionals, creating a dynamic environment for collaboration and innovation.
“The Himalayan Travel Mart is a cornerstone of Nepal’s tourism promotion efforts, connecting global stakeholders and showcasing our unique offerings,” said a PATA Nepal spokesperson. “HTM 2025 will celebrate our rich heritage while fostering new business opportunities to drive sustainable tourism growth.”
The three-day event will feature exhibitions, business-to-business meetings, and discussions aimed at highlighting Nepal’s diverse tourism potential, from adventure tourism in the Himalayas to cultural and eco-tourism experiences. With its strategic focus on networking and industry promotion, HTM 2025 is poised to strengthen Nepal’s position in the global tourism market, particularly as the country recovers from pandemic-related challenges and seeks to attract more international visitors.
