NAS-IT forms cybersecurity committee to strengthen Nepal’s digital defense

KATHMANDU: In a strategic move to bolster Nepal’s cybersecurity capabilities and enhance digital resilience, the Nepal Association for Software and IT Services Companies (NAS-IT) has officially announced the formation of its Cybersecurity Committee. The committee aims to fortify the nation’s digital ecosystem through expert collaboration, policy advocacy, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The newly established body will operate under the NAS-IT Board and act as a multi-stakeholder platform to coordinate high-impact, practical cybersecurity interventions across Nepal’s growing IT sector. It brings together top cybersecurity experts from NAS-IT member organizations committed to protecting national digital assets and aligning Nepal’s cybersecurity framework with international standards.

Vision: Trusted and Resilient Digital Nepal
The committee envisions a digitally resilient Nepal where the IT and software industry thrives globally while safeguarding critical national infrastructures. It aims to establish Nepal as a secure and competitive tech hub on the international stage.

Mission: Multi-Sectoral Cybersecurity Empowerment
The mission of the committee is to spearhead meaningful cybersecurity programs by enabling dialogue among private industry, academia, government, and civil society. It also seeks to accelerate policy reforms, technical capacity-building, and innovation in the cybersecurity domain.
