KATHMANDU: The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025 officially commenced today at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu. The five-day event, organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Poudel highlighted the government’s commitment to developing vehicle-friendly infrastructure across the country. “The government has prioritized the expansion and widening of roads as part of a broader push to enhance national connectivity. This is being implemented as a strategic campaign,” he said.
He also shared that the government has included in this year’s budget a plan to construct an international-standard exhibition venue at Bhrikutimandap, with relevant ministries and agencies already initiating groundwork. “Even if we must go for a global tender, the government is confident that the facility will be completed within 2 to 3 years,” Poudel added.
On fiscal policy, Poudel clarified that custom duties on automobiles were not increased, not due to sufficient revenue, but to ensure policy stability and boost investor confidence. “We have maintained tax consistency to uphold business morale, and we aim to accelerate improvements in economic indicators,” he said.
This year’s Mobility Expo is being held in NAIMA’s founding year, making the event even more significant. Over 50 brands are participating, showcasing the evolving landscape of Nepal’s auto industry.
The 2025 edition features more than 35 new two-wheeler and four-wheeler models, with a total of 48 stalls occupied by:
21 car brands
18 two-wheeler brands
8 commercial vehicle brands
The expo will run through August 10 (Shrawan 25), offering visitors a chance to explore cutting-edge mobility solutions and the latest vehicle technologies available in Nepal.
