KATHMANDU: The tech and business carnival “Presidential Innovista 2025” is underway in Kathmandu, showcasing 50 cutting-edge projects in artificial intelligence, software and web development, cybersecurity, robotics, and multimedia.
Developed by 170 BSc IT students, the projects blend strong technical skills with commercial potential. Standout innovations include an FPV drone used for flower showers during the opening ceremony—students plan to adapt it for future delivery services—and Robo Soccer, featuring football-playing robots. Other crowd-pullers are a dancing robot that moves to music, an emotion detection system recommending songs based on facial expressions, the Danphe operating system, an EV bike, and a smart home system with automatic alarms and shut-off for gas leaks.
Disaster-preparedness tools such as earthquake, flood, and landslide alert systems and the NEPSE Predict software for stock market forecasting also drew attention. Cybersecurity exhibits tackled issues like online fraud prevention, data leak protection, and secure banking.
Additional projects include smart irrigation systems, tourism promotion software, and autonomous vehicles with 360-degree cameras controllable from a distance.
Organized under affiliation with Westcliff University, USA, the exhibition is hosted by Presidential Graduate School, Thapagaun, Baneshwor. Executive Chairman Laxman KC said the event aims to present the best of student innovation.
The exhibition is open to the public free of charge until Sunday.
