KATHMANDU: Laxman KC has been re-elected as the President of the International Education Providers Association of Nepal (IEPAN) for a second term.
The new working committee elected KC during the annual general meeting held in the capital. Samir Thapa serves as the Immediate Past President (IPP) of IEPAN, while Tej Dhakal, Bigyan Shrestha, and Resta Jha have been elected as the Senior Vice President and Vice Presidents, respectively. Shailaja Adhikari will serve as General Secretary, Mahendra Kandel as Secretary, and Yogesh Uprety as Treasurer of the executive committee.
The newly elected members of the executive committee include Bheshraj Pokharel, Pravina Thapa, Laxman Pokharel, Pramod Baniya, and Ashish Thakur.
During the IEPAN executive committee meeting, an advisory board was also appointed, with Pankaj Jalan serving as Chairman. Other members of the advisory board include Narottam Aryal, Dr. Mithlesh Jha, Reetal Rana, and Arnaraj Silwal.
While presenting his views at the Annual General Meeting, President KC expressed his commitment to making IEPAN more organized, professional, and impactful in promoting quality education in Nepal. He emphasized that IEPAN is working towards providing world-class education within the country at affordable fees through collaboration with internationally recognized universities; and to position Nepal as a priority educational destination for international students by closely coordinating with the Ministry of Education and other concerned authorities.
President KC stated that if we begin efforts to attract foreign students and provide quality education, the Nepal Education Minister, Honorable Raghuji Panta, has assured us of government support, and the Ministry is committed to extending that initiative.
Currently, IEPAN members are 57 colleges in Nepal, serving 34,458 students. KC emphasized that transparency in the admission processes and systematic management will be priorities to enhance the reputation of member institutions.
