KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kul Man Ghising has announced the establishment of a special fund dedicated to rebuilding damaged infrastructure across Nepal.
Speaking after assuming office, Ghising said the proposed fund will be used for the immediate reconstruction of public structures destroyed during recent unrest. He added that the Cabinet will formally endorse the initiative in its upcoming meeting.
“We need to urgently rebuild the damaged public infrastructure,” Ghising stated. “The destruction occurred in a wave of anger, but now it is our responsibility to reconstruct them.”
The minister also appealed to Nepalis living abroad to contribute financially to the reconstruction fund. According to him, the support of the Nepali diaspora will be crucial in mobilizing adequate resources for timely rebuilding efforts.
