KATHMANDU: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has announced that its 12th World Conference and General Convention will be held in Kathmandu this February.
According to a joint press statement issued by General Secretaries Gauriraj Joshi and BR Lama, the international convention will take place from February 23 to 25. The dates were finalized during a meeting of the Steering Committee formed after the unification process within the organization.
The meeting also decided to form a Facilitation Committee to support unity among the National Coordination Committees (NCCs). The committee will be led by Gangadhar Gautam as coordinator, with Tika Gurung (Radhika) as co-coordinator. Members include Narayan Kafle, Shani Oli, and Chiranjivi Khadka.
In addition, the Steering Committee resolved to organize regional interactions and dialogue programs related to unity. These will be held on December 19 for the Middle East and Africa region, December 20 for the Asia-Pacific and Oceania region, and December 21 for the Americas and Europe region.
The meeting further decided to expand the Membership Committee from five to seven members by adding two more members. It was also agreed that all Steering Committee members must sign a letter of commitment before the next meeting. Members who fail to do so will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming Steering Committee meeting.
