Discussion on beauty education and international career opportunities at the Cosmetic Expo

KATHMANDU: A consultation session related to hair, skin, makeup, and nail care was successfully held on Saturday under Cosmetic Expo 2025, organized in Naxal, Kathmandu.

The consultation session was organized in collaboration with the International School of Aesthetics and Spa (ISAS) Beauty School with the objective of providing information on the latest trends, skills, and career opportunities related to the beauty, makeup, and personal care sector.

During the program, participants raised queries on topics such as how to choose the right institute to become a good makeup artist, which courses to start with, and the differences between trends shown on social media and real learning. Internationally certified trainers from ISAS addressed and clarified the participants’ questions.

Responding to the queries, CIDESCO-certified trainer of ISAS Beauty Academy, Kristina Subba, said, “Many students tend to choose institutes based solely on low fees, but that does not ensure quality learning. Although internationally accredited schools may be slightly more expensive, they help build access, opportunities, and recognition in the global market.

”LAPT-certified trainer Preeti Pandeu Durva stated that choosing an institute by only watching videos on social media is not appropriate. She advised students to make decisions only after visiting the institute in person and understanding the curriculum, trainers, and learning environment.

CIDESCO Diploma in Cosmetology certified trainer Prakriti Mishra said that strong skills in cosmetology greatly help in expanding global networks and building markets worldwide. She stated that with hard work, dedication, and continuous practice, one can become a successful makeup and hair artist. She also emphasized that it is extremely important to continuously update oneself and refine skills according to evolving trends.

According to experts, the previously popular heavy makeup trend is gradually changing, and natural and skin-friendly makeup is now being prioritized.

The organizers stated that Cosmetic Expo 2025 provided an opportunity for students, entrepreneurs, and the general public interested in the beauty sector to directly interact with experts and gain information about their problems and solutions.ISAS, an international franchise beauty school established in Baneshwor, Kathmandu, is an academy that has started with internationally recognized certification-based beauty education programs.
