Nepal Police honors Golyan Group chairman Akshay Golyan

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has honored Akshay Golyan, Chairman and Managing Director of the Golyan Group, in recognition of the group’s support for the renovation and restoration of police offices following the Gen-Z movement.

The honor was conferred at a program organized by the Kathmandu District Police Range on Sunday, where Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki presented the recognition to Golyan, acknowledging the Golyan Group’s contribution to strengthening police infrastructure and reinforcing community–police partnership.

In the context of the “new generation movement” of Bhadra 23–24, Nepal Police has been implementing the Hamro Prahari campaign to further enhance the Community Police Partnership Program. To support the effectiveness of this campaign, the Golyan Group provided financial assistance worth Rs 2.101 million for the renovation and restoration of police offices.

Speaking at the event, Golyan said the support was extended to stand with Nepal Police during a challenging period, recognizing the institution’s key responsibility of protecting life and property and maintaining peace and order in society. He said the initiative was aimed at strengthening the belief that Nepal Police is “the people’s constant companion.”

“Only a capable and confident police force with high morale can effectively carry out its responsibilities,” Golyan said, adding that secure and quality physical infrastructure is essential for police personnel to perform their duties efficiently. He also stated that the Golyan Group would continue to work closely with Nepal Police in the future in the interest of public safety and social stability.

The program was chaired by Macharaja Maharjan, Ward Chair of Kathmandu Metropolitan City–23. Those present included Kathmandu Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol, Additional Inspector General of Police Om Prasad Adhikari, Maiti Nepal Founder Chair Anuradha Koirala, Kathmandu Chief District Officer Ishwar Raj Adhikari, and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal, among others.

Nepal Police officials said collaboration with the private sector, such as the support provided by the Golyan Group, plays an important role in strengthening community trust, improving police facilities, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of law enforcement in maintaining peace and security.
