UAE shows high interest in Nepal’s energy and tech sectors

KATHMANDU: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, the President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), recently met with Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, the Secretary of the Ministry of Economy for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The meeting focused on making the economic bond between the two countries even stronger. They talked about how to help businesses grow and find new ways to invest in each other.

Focus on Key Areas for Growth

During the talk, President Dhakal shared information about the many opportunities for investment currently available in Nepal. He highlighted several important areas where the two countries could work together. These include:

  • Energy: Focusing on hydropower and renewable energy.
  • Tourism: Building better hotels and travel services.
  • Agriculture: Improving how food is processed and sold.
  • Technology: Growing the IT sector and digital services.

UAE Shows Strong Interest in Nepal

Secretary Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh showed a lot of interest in the projects and ideas presented by Nepal. He said the UAE is very open to working more closely with Nepal’s private sector. He also shared a nice memory from his visit to Nepal in 2018. He said he really enjoyed the warm welcome he received and still remembers how much he liked the local food.

Tej Bahadur Chhetri, the Nepali Ambassador to the UAE, was also at the meeting. Both sides promised to keep talking and to turn these ideas into real results. By working together, they hope to create more jobs and help both economies grow in the coming years.
