KATHMANDU: IGI Prudential Insurance Limited successfully held its 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) this Thursday. During the meeting, shareholders officially approved a proposal to distribute a 5% cash dividend based on the company’s current paid-up capital.
The event was led by Chairman Hemraj Dhakal and CEO Yugesh Bhakta Bade Shrestha, who shared the company’s financial progress and future goals with the investors.
Business GrowthOne of the major highlights shared during the meeting is the upcoming move to a new 11-story building in Panipokhari. The company plans to shift its head office to this new location and will rent out the remaining floors, creating a new source of income.
Chairman Dhakal reported that the company has built a strong network across all seven provinces of Nepal. Currently, IGI Prudential operates with:
90 branches nationwide.
A team of 531 employees.
Over 430 agents and 192 surveyors.
In terms of financial performance, the company collected Rs. 386.59 crore in insurance premiums over the past year. On the other side, it paid out Rs. 2.46 billion (Rs. 246.33 crore) in insurance claims to its customers.
New Services and Digital FocusThe company is also looking to the future by introducing new and digital-friendly services. This includes updated health insurance plans and specialized insurance for foreign mountaineering and trekking, which is a key market in Nepal.
The Chairman thanked the shareholders, the government, and regulatory bodies for their ongoing support. He promised that the company would continue to focus on being transparent and reliable while providing high-quality service to its clients.
