Morang Chamber launches ‘Koshi Connect’ business mission to strengthen inter-industry collaboration

KATHMANDU: The Morang Chamber of Industries (MCI) is set to launch a three-day ‘Koshi Connect’ Business Mission from Magh 2 to Magh 4, aiming to deepen industrial development and strengthen business-to-business collaboration across Koshi Province.

The initiative has been designed as a catalyst to promote regional cooperation, industrial networking, and mutual partnerships among businesses operating in the hill and Tarai districts of the province. Under the mission, a high-level delegation from MCI will visit Udayapur, Khotang, and Bhojpur districts to engage with local industries, explore investment opportunities, and discuss avenues for inter-regional collaboration.

According to the organization, the mission seeks to enhance regional trade, promote local production, and contribute to a shared pathway toward economic prosperity within Koshi Province.

The MCI delegation is led by President Nand Kishore Rathi and includes Immediate Past President Rakesh Surana, Senior Vice-President Bholeshwar Dulal, Vice-Presidents Surendra Golchha, Bipin Kawara, and Subodh Koirala, Treasurer Paras Lunia, and executive committee members Saurabh Sarda, Birendra Rathi, Deepak Agrawal, Santosh Bhagat, Siddharth Kawara, Kiran Byas, Paras Golchha, Ukesh Agrawal, entrepreneur Nirmal Kochar, women entrepreneurs Pratibha Paudel Niraula, Sabitra Dhakal, Bimala Thapa, Mayusha, youth entrepreneurs Roman Kattel and Sagar Raj Dhungana, along with Director General Chudamani Bhattarai.

Speaking about the initiative, MCI President Nand Kishore Rathi said the ‘Koshi Connect’ Business Mission is expected to play a crucial role in reinforcing regional trade, promoting local industries, and advancing the goal of shared prosperity. He emphasized that as a leading private-sector institution, MCI aims to bridge the hill-Tarai economic divide by expanding business-to-business relations, facilitating knowledge and idea exchange, and establishing a unified private-sector voice on key economic agendas.

Rathi also stated that the mission aligns with and supports the Koshi Tourism Year 2082 campaign launched by the Koshi Province Government. He noted that private-sector leadership through this mission would contribute to tourism promotion, regional connectivity, and stronger inter-business cooperation across the province.

According to MCI, the ‘Koshi Connect’ Business Mission targets the establishment of inter-district business networks and partnerships, promotion of investment and trade opportunities, market expansion for domestic products through the ‘My Country, My Product’ campaign, virtual business linkage via B2B platforms, encouragement of entrepreneurship and innovation, and consensus-building on shared economic priorities.

As part of the program, interactions will be held on Magh 2 with the Triyuga Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Gaighat, on Magh 3 with the Khotang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and on Magh 4 with the Bhojpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These sessions will involve local entrepreneurs and industry representatives, focusing on B2B engagement and multiple dimensions of cooperation.

The Morang Chamber of Industries expressed confidence that the business mission will significantly contribute to advancing private-sector-led development and strengthening long-term business partnerships across Koshi Province.
