KATHMANDU: The India AI Impact Summit 2026 wrapped up this week at Bharat Mandapam, marking the first time this global event was held in the “Global South.” The five-day summit brought together world leaders, tech CEOs, and over 200,000 visitors to discuss how artificial intelligence can improve daily life.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the event by introducing the “MANAV” vision—a plan to make AI ethical, accountable, and focused on helping people. He emphasized that AI should not just be for big companies but should reach farmers, students, and small businesses across India.
The event was packed with major announcements that will change India’s tech landscape:
The summit also showcased practical AI tools like “Mossum GPT” for farmers and AI systems that help doctors diagnose diseases in remote villages. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw added that India is scaling up its computer power significantly to support young startups and researchers.
With billions of dollars in new deals and a focus on “Made in India” technology, the 2026 summit has positioned India as a leading player in the world’s AI future.
