KATHMANDU: Beverage trading firm Trade Vision Partners and Nepali producer Shangrila Distillery Limited have entered into a strategic import–export partnership aimed at expanding premium spirits and wine distribution across Australia, Nepal, and other international markets.
The agreement brings together Trade Vision’s global distribution expertise and Shangrila Distillery’s large-scale production capacity, positioning both companies to accelerate market expansion, strengthen brand visibility, and scale premium product flows across borders.
Nepali Spirits Set for International Expansion
Under the deal, Trade Vision has secured exclusive export rights for Shangrila Distillery’s portfolio of vodka, whisky, and premium liquor brands. The products are expected to enter Australian and other overseas markets as part of a broader push to expand the global presence of Nepali-made alcoholic beverages.
Industry observers say the move could help strengthen Nepal’s export base in value-added consumer goods while raising international exposure for domestic beverage brands.
Premium Wine Imports Target Nepal’s Hospitality Boom
Alongside exports, Trade Vision will also introduce premium international wines into Nepal, targeting what it identifies as a supply gap in the country’s fast-growing hospitality sector.
Market studies conducted by the firm point to:
Rapid tourism growth
Expansion of luxury and five-star hotels
Rising demand for premium hospitality products
Limited availability of high-quality imported wines
The company plans to supply curated wine selections to hotels, resorts, fine-dining restaurants, specialty retailers, and key tourism destinations, aiming to raise service standards while enhancing visitor experience.
Analysts say improved access to premium wines could support Nepal’s tourism value chain by increasing per-visitor spending and strengthening the country’s upscale hospitality offering.
Backed by Major Nepali Business Group
Shangrila Distillery operates under the umbrella of the Shyam Baba Group, one of Nepal’s diversified business houses. The group’s financial strength and multi-industry presence are expected to support scaling of production and long-term export sustainability.
Trade Vision has previously collaborated with companies within the group, and both sides said the new agreement reflects a long-term commitment to expanding international trade channels.
Two-Way Trade Model
The partnership is structured as a balanced two-way trade model:
Export of Nepali spirits to global markets
Import of premium wines into Nepal
Executives say this approach is designed to generate revenue growth for both firms while creating a stable cross-border beverage ecosystem linking Nepal to global supply chains.
The companies said the partnership aims not only to expand product trade but also to build a long-term distribution platform that combines production capacity, market intelligence, and logistics networks to position Nepal more strongly in the global premium beverage market.
