KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom has introduced a Group SMS service allowing mobile users to send bulk messages to up to 10,000 recipients at a time.
According to the company, the service enables customers to send 2,000, 5,000, or 10,000 SMS messages in a single batch, making it suitable for individuals, businesses, and institutions needing to disseminate information quickly and efficiently.
Under the pricing structure, 2,000 SMS can be sent for Rs 1,243, 5,000 SMS for Rs 3,108, and 10,000 SMS for Rs 6,215. To access the service, users must have a company SIM card registered in their name.
The service can be used via mobile, desktop, or laptop by logging into the designated web portal and purchasing the required package. Users must upload recipient mobile numbers through an Excel sheet before dispatching messages simultaneously.
Nepal Telecom clarified that full responsibility for the content, wording, and intent of the transmitted messages lies with the sender. Company spokesperson Rabindra Manandhar shared details of the service launch.
