Gold Price drops Rs 3,700 per tola in Nepal; Silver also declines

KATHMANDU: Gold prices in Nepal dropped sharply on Monday, falling by Rs 3,700 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.

The federation fixed the price of fine gold at Rs 313,200 per tola, down from Rs 316,900 per tola recorded in the previous trading session.

Despite the latest decline, gold prices in the Nepali market remain historically high. The precious metal had reached its all-time record of Rs 339,000 per tola on January 29, 2026 (Magh 15, 2082 BS), reflecting strong demand and global market volatility.

Silver prices also slipped slightly on Monday. The price of silver fell by Rs 65 per tola, settling at Rs 5,410 per tola, compared to Rs 5,475 per tola a day earlier.

Market observers say fluctuations in Nepal’s bullion market are closely linked to global gold prices, US dollar movements, geopolitical tensions, and domestic demand for jewelry and investment assets.
