Financial regulators thanks Minister Khanal for guidance on economic stability

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Rameshwar Prasad Khanal met with the heads of Nepal’s key financial regulatory bodies on Monday to discuss the country’s economic and financial sector development.

The meeting, attended by Revenue Secretary Bhupal Baral, included regulators such as Dr. Bishwanath Paudel, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Chandrakala Paudel, Chairperson of Nepal Insurance Authority, and Santosh Narayan Shrestha, Chairperson of Nepal Securities Board.

During the discussions, Minister Khanal commended the role of regulatory authorities in maintaining macroeconomic stability, creating an investor-friendly environment, enhancing transparency in capital markets, and ensuring sound economic governance.

In response, the regulators expressed appreciation for the minister’s policy guidance and noted that their collaboration with him has been fruitful in promoting the development of Nepal’s banking and financial sector while upholding financial discipline.
