KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balen Shah is preparing to remove Labour, Employment and Social Security Minister Deepak Kumar Sah from his post, just 14 days after his appointment, in a move that signals growing dissatisfaction within the government.
According to sources close to the Prime Minister, Shah is unhappy with the performance and working style of Minister Sah, prompting immediate steps to reshuffle the cabinet.
“Preparations are underway to relieve the Labour Minister and appoint a new minister,” a source close to the Prime Minister said, indicating that the decision could be executed as early as today.
The potential dismissal comes as a surprise, given Sah’s recent entry into the cabinet following his electoral victory. He was elected to the House of Representatives from Mahottari-2 constituency in the February 2026 parliamentary elections, representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
His removal within such a short period highlights internal performance expectations and political recalibration within the current administration.
