KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry has decided to hold its 60th Annual General Assembly on Baisakh 21 and 22, 2083 (May 4–5, 2026) after it was previously postponed due to a court order.

A meeting of FNCCI office bearers on Friday resolved to reschedule the general assembly, which had earlier been planned for Chaitra 29 and 30 but was halted following an interim order from the High Court Patan.

The joint bench of judges Khadka Bahadur KC and Deepak Khanal had issued the interim order on Thursday, directing the federation not to conduct the general assembly until further notice.

The order came in response to a writ petition filed by the Nepal Petroleum Transport Entrepreneurs Federation and others. The petitioners argued that although they had been granted membership within FNCCI, they were denied voting rights.

The court stated that conducting the general assembly could affect the petitioners, and therefore instructed FNCCI to halt both the assembly and the election process until a final decision is made.

Following the court’s directive, the previously scheduled general assembly and election process had been suspended. With the new dates announced, FNCCI is expected to proceed while addressing the legal concerns raised in the case.
