‘Presidential Innovista 2025’ tech and business carnival concludes

KATHMANDU: The ‘Presidential Innovista-2025’ Tech and Business Carnival, organized by the Presidential Graduate School in Thapagaun, Kathmandu, concluded on Sunday, showcasing the creativity and innovation of Nepal’s emerging tech talent.

The two-day event, affiliated with Westcliff University in the United States, featured around 50 projects developed by some 170 B.Sc. IT students. The exhibition covered cutting-edge areas including artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, software and web development, machine learning, robotics, multimedia, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Student innovations spanned diverse sectors such as health, tourism, finance, agriculture, security, and entertainment. Featured projects included a smart helmet, smart mirror, smart irrigation system, health prediction AI, sanitary pad vending machine, football-playing robot, drone delivery system, stock market forecasting software, cybersecurity platforms, and mobile games.

The exhibition was inaugurated in symbolic fashion — by lighting an electric lamp via a mobile app created by the students themselves.

Health Minister Pradeep Poudel, former Education Ministers Dr. Gangalal Tuladhar and Shishir Khanal, former Minister Dr. Beduram Bhusal, Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa, Education, Health and Technology Committee Chair Amber Bahadur Thapa, lawmaker Dr. Chandra Bhandari, former Ambassador Pramesh Hamal, along with national athletes, artists, corporate leaders, and educators attended the event. Visitors praised the students’ creativity, technical skills, and entrepreneurial vision.

Organizers said the Presidential Innovista platform will continue in the coming years, with plans to connect promising student projects to potential investors to help turn prototypes into market-ready products.
