Mountain Energy Nepal Posts Rs 629 Million Net Profit, Revenue Surges to Rs 13 Billion

KATHMANDU: Mountain Energy Nepal Limited has reported a net profit of Rs 629 million for the fiscal year 2081/82 (2024/25), reflecting a significant improvement in earnings alongside a sharp rise in total revenue.

The company’s total income reached Rs 13 billion, a substantial increase from Rs 9.22 billion recorded in the previous fiscal year. Insurance claims contributed Rs 80.62 million to the income, while cost of sales stood at Rs 258.7 million and other direct expenses at Rs 193.7 million.

After deducting operational and maintenance expenses, the hydropower producer posted an operating profit of Rs 892.1 million. Financial costs amounted to Rs 244.3 million, and employee bonuses totaled Rs 12.9 million.

Before taxes, profit stood at Rs 636 million, with net profit after tax settling at Rs 629 million.

Earnings and Financial Strength
Earnings per share (EPS) climbed to Rs 24.17 from Rs 17.87 in the previous year, indicating stronger returns for shareholders. The company’s net worth per share was reported at Rs 152.11, underscoring a solid capital position.

Industry analysts say the results point to a strengthened financial standing for Mountain Energy Nepal, driven by higher power sales, insurance recovery, and efficient cost management.
