Ncell offers extended free data, voice calls, and SMS amid ongoing crisis

KATHMANDU: In response to the ongoing crisis, private telecom operator Ncell, has announced an extension of its free data, local voice calls, and SMS services until Friday, September 12, 2025 (Bhadra 27).

The company stated that the decision was made to ensure that customers can remain connected with their loved ones, no matter where they are, during these difficult times.

“In line with our continued commitment to help you stay in touch with your family and friends, we have extended the free service deadline,” the company said in its notice.

The free service was initially announced as a temporary relief measure but has now been extended in view of the nationwide unrest, curfews, and restrictions on mobility.

Telecom services have become a lifeline for millions of Nepalis, especially with social media restrictions and disruptions in communication channels. Industry experts say such initiatives are crucial for maintaining connectivity and reducing public anxiety during emergencies.

Consumers welcomed the extension, saying it would ease their burden at a time when access to reliable communication is essential.
