KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Finance has announced that, effective Friday, all of its comments, approvals, and decision-making processes will now take place exclusively through a digital approval system, ending traditional paper-based procedures.
Interim Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal made the declaration public through a post on Facebook, stating that the ministry has fully adopted the digital system to make its operations faster, more transparent, and more secure.
According to Minister Khanal, all internal filings, notes, and approval procedures will now be conducted online only.
He wrote on social media: “The digital system is expected to save both cost and labor, while significantly enhancing transparency in the decision-making process.”
The move marks a significant step in Nepal’s shift toward e-governance, reflecting growing efforts to reduce bureaucratic delays, minimize corruption risks, and align public administration with global best practices.
