Sanima Bank appoints Pawan Acharya as new CEO, Board confirms four-year term

KATHMANDU: Sanima Bank Limited has appointed Pawan Acharya as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The decision was made by the bank’s Board of Directors during a meeting held on Monday evening. Acharya, who has been serving as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO), will assume the CEO role from Magh 12 for a term of four years.

The appointment follows the completion of the first tenure of outgoing CEO Nischal Raj Pandey. Acharya, who has been associated with Sanima Bank for the past 21 years, was chosen to lead the institution based on his long experience and leadership within the bank’s operational and strategic management structures.

Acharya holds an MBA degree from Pittsburg State University, United States, and has been regarded as one of the key executives involved in Sanima Bank’s expansion, digital service enhancement, and strategic capital management. He also currently serves as the Chairman of Sanima Capital, the bank’s investment and merchant banking subsidiary.

With Sanima Bank positioned as one of Nepal’s prominent commercial banks active in corporate banking, SME lending, remittance services, and digital banking, the leadership transition is viewed as a move to ensure continuity and strengthen institutional growth amid competitive pressure in the banking sector.

Bank officials say that under Acharya’s leadership, Sanima Bank will prioritize capital strengthening, risk management, digital innovation, and network expansion in line with evolving market and regulatory environments.
