KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited has announced the launch of a dedicated greenhouse loan facility for floriculture entrepreneurs and farmers, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN).
The agreement aims to promote the use of greenhouse technology in flower farming and ornamental landscaping crops, while also developing an accessible and specialized credit mechanism for the sector. The MoU was signed by Ashim Karmacharya, Head of Infrastructure and Project Financing at Global IME Bank, and Rajesh Bhakta Shrestha, President of Floriculture Association Nepal.
Under the agreement, Global IME Bank will extend targeted greenhouse loans to flower producers and agribusiness entrepreneurs. The Floriculture Association Nepal, in turn, will disseminate information about the bank’s agricultural loan schemes to its members, facilitating easier access to finance.
Bank officials said the initiative is expected to contribute to increased flower production and productivity, promotion of modern greenhouse technologies, development of quality infrastructure, and enhancement of related services. The collaboration is also expected to encourage climate-resilient agricultural practices, sustainable business models, and the adoption of modern technologies within Nepal’s floriculture sector.
Both parties expressed confidence that the partnership would expand financial access for floriculture entrepreneurs and enterprises investing in greenhouse technology, leading to higher production and productivity of flowers and ornamental plants.
Global IME Bank has received multiple national and international recognitions across various categories, including Bank of the Year 2014, Best Internet Bank 2016, Best Bank Nepal 2024 and 2025, Euromoney Award for Excellence in 2022, 2024 and 2025, Best Bank ESG Nepal 2024, and Best Employer awards.

It operates through a nationwide network of 352 branch offices, 384 ATMs, 150 branchless banking services, 68 extension and revenue collection counters, and three foreign representative offices, providing services through more than 1,000 service outlets.
