Gold price falls by Rs 3,000 per tola, Silver also declines

KATHMANDU: Gold prices in the Nepali market dropped on Monday after rising sharply a day earlier, reflecting continued volatility in precious metal rates.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations, fine gold is being traded at Rs 305,800 per tola on Monday, down by Rs 3,000 compared to Sunday’s rate.

Gold prices had increased by Rs 2,300 per tola on Sunday, but the upward trend reversed at the start of the week, bringing prices back down in line with adjustments in the international bullion market and local demand conditions.

Silver prices also declined on Monday. The metal fell by Rs 125 per tola, with the current trading rate fixed at Rs 4,860 per tola, the federation said.

Bullion traders say domestic prices are largely guided by global market movements, exchange rate fluctuations, and short-term shifts in local demand, especially from jewellery buyers and investors.
