KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell sharply on Monday, with the index dropping 26.07 points to close at 2,798.83.
A total of 345 stocks were traded 102,759 times, exchanging 307,902,211 shares worth Rs11.97 billion. Four companies—Salpa Bikash Bank, Reliance Spinning Mills, Upper Hewakhola Hydropower, and Solu Hydropower—hit the positive circuit today.
Investors in Siddhartha Equity Fund suffered the largest loss, down 4.39%.
In terms of trading volume, Aankhukhola Hydropower led the market with Rs687.72 million, followed by National Hydropower at Rs661.46 million. Other top movers included Upper Hewakhola Hydropower (Rs415 million), SY Panel Nepal (Rs372.3 million), and Ridi Power (Rs356.5 million).
Except for the production subgroup, which rose 0.25%, all other sectors closed in the red, reflecting broad-based market weakness.
