KATHMANDU. The Ministry of Finance has formed a budget drafting committee for the preparation of the Fiscal Year 2083/84 budget.
According to the ministry, Revenue Management Division Chief and Joint Secretary Uttar Khatri has been appointed as the coordinator of the committee. Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle will present the budget speech on Jestha 15.
The committee will be responsible for preparing the annual policy and programme, assisting in determining priority projects and programmes, and drafting the Appropriation Bill to be tabled in Parliament.
It will also prepare the full draft of the budget for FY 2083/84 and submit it to the ministry.
Members of the committee include heads of various divisions within the Ministry of Finance, including Joint Secretaries Suman Dahal, Dhaniram Sharma, Mahesh Bhattarai, and Shivnanda Pokharel.
Meanwhile, the National Planning Commission has set a budget ceiling of Rs 1.89 trillion for the upcoming fiscal year.
