KATHMANDU: Tripureshwor-based Bagmati Sweets has received a clean chit from the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control after a joint inspection found its food hygiene standards satisfactory.
According to the department, a joint monitoring team comprising officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, the Kathmandu District Administration Office, and the divisional office conducted an on-site inspection and lifted restrictions on the company’s production and sales.
Bagmati Sweets said it has improved its internal infrastructure, strengthened employee management and upgraded production processes. The company has also assigned dedicated staff for pest control, cleanliness and raw material quality checks.
The company stated that separate footwear arrangements have been introduced for staff inside production areas to prevent contamination, while regular pest control is carried out every two weeks. Mandatory use of aprons, gloves and caps has also been enforced for employees.
