Pensioners can activate pension account without visiting banks till mid-December

KATHMANDU: Retired employees receiving pension from government funds now do not have to go to their respective banks till mid-December to activate their pension account.

Retired employees receiving pension have to visit their respective banks every six months to activate their pension account.

Taking into consideration the risk of the elderly being infected with the coronavirus while visiting banks, the Office of the Auditor General has made an arrangement for the retirees to activate their accounts without visiting the bank.

According to the office, pensioners can now activate their pension accounts from the Pension Management Office till mid-December after which they will get their regular amount in their accounts.
