NRB calls application for its refinancing facility

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited applications from the businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic for refinancing facility of the central bank.

Issuing a notice on Friday, NRB asked applications from enterprises to the facility that was announced through the monetary policy for the current fiscal year.

Through the monetary policy, NRB has stated that Rs 150 billion refinancing facility will be provided to the coronavirus-affected businesses via banks and financial institutions (BFIs).

Under this plan, BFIs can issue personal loans and business loans of up to Rs 50 million at a low interest rate of up to five percent.
