DRI files case against 14 firms evading tax

KATHMANDU: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has filed cases against 14 firms at the Patan High Court on charge of evading taxes using fake VAT receipts.

Collectively, these firms were found evading Rs 1.34 billion worth tax illegally.

As per the department, evading taxes using fake receipts were rampant and the government is intensifying its investigation to curb such activities.
