KATHMANDU: In the light of increasing cases of coronavirus, the government is set to issue prohibitory order in Kathmandu Valley from Thursday.
The Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts of the Valley, in line with suggestion of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC), have recommended the the government to enforce prohibitory order in the three districts to check the transmission of Covid-19, which is rapidly rising in the country.
A cabinet meeting today is expected to take decisions to enforce a number of recommendations made earlier by the Central Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).
The CCMC meeting has recommended regulating cross border movement and making it mandatory for those arriving in Nepal through air route to stay in quarantine at least for 14 days.
Enforcement of prohibitory order means that all services, except essential services, will be stopped. While movement of public and private vehicles will be barred, banks and financial institutions (BFIs) and government offices will remain open adopting safety health standards.
