Branches of insurance companies to remain shut from Thursday

KATHMANDU:  Branches of all insurance companies will remain shut from Thursday. Earlier on Tuesday, the District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu had directed insurance firms to operate their branches amid rising cases of coronavirus in the Kathmandu Valley.

Raju Poudel, executive director of the Insurance Board , informed that branch offices other than corporate offices of all insurance companies will remain closed from Thursday across Kathmandu Valley.

“Even in the corporate offices, insurance companies should operate with limited manpower adopting proper health safety measures,” said Poudel.

For the last 15 days, insurance companies have been operating with limited staff. Other than payment of claims and urgent insurance policy, insurance companies have not been giving other services.
